Antique 1754 Gabriel Ramirez Diagram Celestial Armillary Sphere Framed

Description

Here for your consideration is an antique print, matted and framed of
an Armillary Sphere.  The diagram shows an Armillary Sphere along with two smaller objects on the lower left and right hand sides.  The Sphere is an old astronomical observation instrument used to differ between the Ptolemaic system and the Copernican system of astornomy, by showing the relationship between the various objects in the sky.  The diagram shows the central terrestrial globe with rings representing the main celestial circles.  Engraved by Jose Andrade, note “Andrade” on the lower right corner.  Nicely gilt framed under glass with single mat and gold opening border. The print sight measures 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches, frame is 9.5 inches by 10 1/4 inches.  Condition is as follows:
Crease mark running the entire left side starting just to the right of “Esphera” and another crease mark that runs down the right side begining at the “Pag” point on the upper right side and ends at “F’ point on the lower right hand side.
Rubbing marks that run 1/8 of an inch along the top of the print .
The piece does not rest perfectly flat in the frame.  There are some slight wavy parts to the piece.
Minor wear and toning consistent with age along with original plate marks.
Minor wear to the gilt frame in the form of scratch marks mostly located on the side.
