Here for your consideration is a
Gabriel Ramirez map of Africa and the biblical treasure city of Ophir, along with a map of ancient Greece.  Professionally framed, single matted in a slightly textured off white mat with gold border.  The left potion of the map covers the intire continent of Africa with adjacent parts of Europe and Arabia.  The left side of the map indentifies the biblical port of Ophir.  Associated with the legends of King Soloman.   Phier was said to be a kingdom of limitless wealth from which Solomon collected the gold needed to construct the first temple of Jerusalem.  The bottom of the map Illustates natives loading boats with shovels and other tools.  The right side of the map covers from Germania and Sarmatia to Crete and from Illricum east as far as the Sea of Marmara.  The map identifies ancient Greek towns and regions, including Ionia in modern day Turkey.  Following the battle of Corinth in 146 BC, the Greek Peninsula came under Roman Rule.  The period from 31 BC and 180 in Greek histroy is described as the era of the Pax Romana. AD.  The print measures approximately 5.5 inches by 6 1/4 inches and is in very good condition with no stains or fold marks.  Size of the frame is 10 1/4 inches by 9.5 inches.  Disregard dark spots and the are only reflections from the glass.  Rare that this piece is found together, uncut.  Appears to have print on the verso.
Note that this piece does not rest completely flat within the frame (framer knew what he was doing and did not dry mount the piece).
